Key word descriptions on your pins

CHALLENGE

“Get seen by your dream audience”

Getting your PIN seen by your dream audience really is the key here, without having the correct use of KEY WORDS within your descriptions & titles, you are limiting your outreach & your full potential.

Hashtags on Pinterest used to be a major thing, it used to be like Instagram where you could follow & click on a # & that would bring up that specific category.

But, this is no longer important. Don’t worry about #’s!

What you do need to be doing is implementing keywords into your descriptions.

Think of it like a # on Instagram; they are there to attract new people from your dream audience to your page. & this is exactly what keywords do on Pinterest.

Keywords on Pinterest attract your dream audience to your pin, who will then click through to a page of your choice, i.e. your website or Instagram pages.

So, how do i know what KEY WORDS to use?

When you are using keywords, you are just adding specific words that are specific to your NICHE.

CHALLENGE

  1. Think about your niche, & write down key words that relate to it.

2. In the Pinterest search bar, type in your souls sunshine e.g. Fitness. See what first 6 words come up - write these down.

3. Do the same as above for your niche - Remember this is your souls sunshine but more specific.

4. Use a mix of these top keywords that come up in your niche & your souls sunshine within your board descriptions & titles.

5. REMEMBER - Pinterest changes very often! It all depends on what people are searching for, so i would do this challenge above every couple of months to make sure you are hitting the TOP searched words

TIPS

▾ Your board name needs to be specific to what you are pinning. Keep it to 3-4 words max, & do NOT use on trend or cutesy words.

▾ Your board description can be up to 4 sentences. Write sentences, & do NOT bullet point, keep it YOU, & not robot-like.

▾ Your pin description can be 500 characters

▾ People tend to look on Pinterest 45 days leading up to an event! So think about this when you are pinning. e.g. if you are pinning tablescapes, think what seasons are you pinning at what times.

REMEMBER - Pinterest is used like a search engine! Think of it like Google!

*P.S. I highly recommend adding the 2 step verification, from somebody who has had major troubles with their security before, it’s one of the first things I ALWAYS set up now.
If there is a point I am missing on here or if you are struggling to find how to do anything, message me & I will tell you how & also add it to this How To so it can benefit others.
