How to use Pinterest as a major source of Inspo

INSIGHT

“Use Pinterest as a search engine, just like you do Google”

Pinterest has soooooo many benefits; yet, hardly any of you are taking advantage of this platform; so I am super happy that you are here, & want to learn more about it.

Pinterest is a search engine, think of it like Google. You can find anything, & everything on here, so it’s great for getting inspo for your brand. Not only is this good before you have started your brand, to find things that you like, & want to incorporate into it; but it's also good to use throughout to discover new creative ways of doing things & to broaden your mindset. There's nothing worse than getting in that inspiration funk.

I recommend -
Starting a ‘secret’ board called BRANDING.
Select ‘keep this board secret’
(when you create a new board you will see an option for this, you can also select this when you edit a board too)

Starting a ‘secret’ board called CONTENT.

Remember within this particular insight, I’m talking about the power of inspiration for your brand. These pins are specifically for you to recreate something similar
NOT TO COPY.

Find inspiration under these categories -

Specifically for your branding board

Logos
Colours/shades/pallettes
Website features
Lifestyle shots
Photography (this is great for when you do a personal branding photoshoot)

Specifically for your content board
Find competitors that are doing similar to you, if you can relate or want to talk about what they have, pin it for inspo when you’re stuck for what to post. Here is how I recommend you break it down -

Authority ‘Value’ Insta posts
These are teachable posts that add value for your audience, how are you sharing that you’re an expert in your chosen niche?
For example, if you’re a Virtual Assistant, find other VA’s, & see what they’re doing, what are they talking about? How are they training? How are they adding value for their clients?

Approachable Insta posts
These are posts that are going to build that like, love & trust factor.
Storytelling, sharing a hobby, sharing a photo of your food, recommending a beauty product, etc.

FYI - If you are going to be pinning lots, & lots under the sections I mentioned above, I would separate your boards because it’s easier to see, & organise. If one board is made up of thousands of images you are never going to see the pins you did right at the beginning. If you do this remember to select ‘secret’.

*P.S. I highly recommend adding the 2 step verification, from somebody who has had major troubles with their security before, it’s one of the first things I ALWAYS set up now.
If there is a point I am missing on here or if you are struggling to find how to do anything, message me & I will tell you how & also add it to this How To so it can benefit others.
